No power (wall socket)
The device does not show any signs of life when plugged in and turned on.
Problem description
it suffered liquid damage to the internals. it tripped the house circuit breaker.

all the parts have dried. reassembled and tested, the appliance turns on without tripping any breakers.
when it got hot enough there was a burning smell/smoke coming from small amounts of caked-on pancake mix burning off. it lasted about a few minutes. after it works normally.

dismantle and cut wires to allow scrubbing of flooded plastic shell with soap and water.
many parts needed spot cleaning including the leads of the heating element, the thermal fuse/sleeve, hinges/screws
