Problem description

The vacuum cleaner could not be turned on. When I brought it to the Dyson service centre, they diagnosed the issue as an overheated motor that needed replacement. However, their repair charge of $300 was too expensive.

Instead, I purchased the replacement motor from Taobao, where the seller also provided an instructional video. I will upload the video for reference. In the segment between the 52-second and 1-minute-10-second mark, the seller demonstrates removing the motor without detaching the ribbon cable that connects the motor to the power button.

In my case, the ribbon cable came out of the power button together with the motor, as it was attached directly to it. The replacement motor also had a ribbon cable attached. I managed to reinsert the ribbon cable into the power button, but the vacuum cleaner still does not turn on.
