The device does not show any signs of life when batteries are inserted and turned on.
Problem description
The battery holder has corroded badly.

Repair Notes
Converted the AA battery holder to USB powered using spare usb cable. Connected the fan's red and black to the usb's red and black. Tested using power bank and the fan is able to turn on.
