No power (wall socket)
The device does not show any signs of life when plugged in and turned on.
Problem description
cannot power on. may have broke after house was tripped and circuit breaker got reset.

hooked up a spare 12v 1a dc power supply directly and it works again.
burn marks at one spot of power supply pcb. suspect it short circuited.
hooked up the passive speaker 3.5mm jack to a sound source and there was sound (albeit soft).
so suspect only the active speaker is broken.
